Sunflower Picking at Hunsader Farms

Updated: Feb 15, 2021

Over the past few weeks here in Florida, things have slowly been reopening in phases. Our family has avoided going out as much as possible, but Mr. J and I were getting cabin fever BADLY this weekend. So we took a day trip to Hunsader Farms in Bradenton for their annual ”U-pick Sunflower Field”. It was our first time going up there in the Spring, we usually visit in the fall for the pumpkin fest... but it did not disappoint.

It was only $2 to get in, and $1 per flower if you decided to pick a few to bring home. We brought our masks just in case, but never ended up using them. There was a lot of people overall, but crowds were easily avoided.

The property itself is very large and everything is well spaced out. There are inexpensive food options, a petting zoo, and an old “ghost town” just to name a few.

Afterwards we took a short drive to the Celery Fields in Sarasota to finish off a therapeutic outdoors :)
