A really cool hidden gem inside LEGO land, is their preservation of the former park Cypress Gardens. Cypress Gardens was a botanical garden and theme park that operated from 1936 to 2009.
The historic botanical gardens portions of the park have been restored to create a horticultural masterpiece. Among a vast variety of tropical plant life, still standing sentinel in the garden is the vast Banyan tree that was planted as a seedling in 1939.
The gardens took us about 20 minutes to walk around, and has really neat hidden gems including waterfalls, statues, and other great photo ops. We almost skipped this part of the park because we didn't want to miss any of the rides in the main park, but I'm so glad we didn't.
